Help please, What years visor will fit what years trucks?

I want to put a visor on my 83, my research shows 1980-(late 90s) 1997 I think will all interchange, is that right?

A friend of mine pulled one from a '93 and installed it on his '85. Went right on.

That is correct except for the F150 and a few F250's. 97 was the change over year but, the 350's carried the same body style thru 97..
