Heater core replacement - right core - correct hose routing?

Hoses on my 86 are both 5/8".
Also don`t have a restrictor as far as I know.

I do have a manual shut off valve on each hose, so I can shut off the hot water in the summer.
Also good to have incase the Heater Core blows out. Makes a wet mess in the cab.

I'm same way as you Goat on my '90 & '92, 5/8" hoses as well as ball valve on both hoses.

Your saying this hose is bigger inside diameter on one side than the other?

Yes, the part that comes up for it as compatible had two different inner diameters

Thanks for all the reply’s everyone! It looks like I’ll be good to go with the bulk 5/8” hose.

@Goat thanks for the **** off valve switches. That’s a good idea. I’ll be adding those as well.
