Could we re drill and tap our blocks/heads to use larger studs/bolts? 6.9 with 7.3 studs? And/or 7.3 with bigger studs/bolts?

Maybe if you could go from 7/16 to 9/16, but not sure if that would put you into a water jacket or oil galley. Plus, you'd likely have to widen up some of the reliefs on the head (under the valve cover) for the larger washer and nut required for a 9/16 stud.

But, going from 7/16 to 1/2 inch.... like stated, not going to work. Not enough material left on the inner portion of the cut thread to hold a stud properly. The sizes are too close in diameter.

Thats the truth posted above. Drilling out a 7/16z14 threads and tapping to 1/2x13 threads will not leave enough material for a full thread. There is really no need to make a 6.9 block use the bigger studs. ARP makes a great stud kit for the 6.9 and also the 7.3 engines.
