when i crank up my truck, my pedal is hard as a rock like the truck is not running. after a few minutes, if gets better. Am I losing my vaccum pump?

Either loosing the pump, have a leak or loosing the booster. Save your time and hydroboost it!

It sounds like you do have a vacuum leak somewhere. This is an issue with an older truck as things get brittle. My truck is leaking from the environmental control system and I’ve been having the same problem as your describing. When you shut the truck down do you here any hissing? And can you trace it down? My truck works fine after everything is warmed up, hope this helps.
