I have a 6.2 I'd like to turbo before or after I install it in my 1979 Jeep Cherokee (think Wagoner, not mini Cherokee) but I recall hearing that the turbo that banks likes to use leaves something to be desired, I've seen I can get a 3" down pipe for the factory turbo for $65 off ebay, a little more for a cross over, and $73 for the passenger manifold, I'm thinking of just assembling my own system, but I'm not sure what turbo to look for, any ideas or experience? Intake pipes shouldn't be too difficult.

I put in a wastegated TE06H that was robbed off a '93 F350 4x4 onto where a factory 6.5 turbo went. Night and day difference. the '87 C2500 4x2 hits 10psi immeadiately and literally will leave my '92 F350 CC sitting still.
very minimal hassle, the mounting flange was the same (T3) and the oil return was the same. the compressor side was offset forward just slightly.
here's the pics.
