glow plug relay/ controller issues

hi guys i know this has come up many times before but im have trouble locating the treads.

any way when i go to glow the plugs the relay clicks for about 30 second giving the plugs inconsistent heat. im trying to trouble shoot this all the plugs are new and the wires are connected, i replaces the relay and still no fix. do you think it is the controller. if it is is it better to delete it and just put in a manual control, if so how do i go about installing one?

Do a push button and forget it, the 6.9 controllers are for the birds.

How I hooked mine up was, I hooked a wire to the + battery terminal and ran the other end to a momentary push button (like the kind you use for a push button start) and then I ran a wire from where the purple wire was hooks on the glow plug relay, and then the other end to the push button.

It's really easy, if you want I can get some pictures.

I would agree. A 6.9 controller is not worth repairing. Switch to the 7.3 system, or use a manual button in conjunction with my Foolproof Glow Plug controller circuit.

How about a 7.3L IDI controller that just clicks the relay on and off?

How long is the count down on your timer Mel?
