I know I've read about this somewhere but I've searched high and low with he forum search and using google site search with no joy.

If I remember rightly too much pressure at the filter head will advance the timing. How much is too much (pressure, not timing advance)? I need to track down a pulse or lumi timing meter so I can actually measure it. Installed the Duralift and it's clattering a bit more and seems to have a bit more power than before.

If it had been a snake it'd have bit me. I swear I'm going senile.

I spoke with Mel over the phone about this few months ago. He said aim for 5-6 psi. The additional psi wont change your mechanical timing set by the rotation of the pump but the internal fluid timing of the pump itself, so no real way to accurately adjust your mechanical timing to compensate for too high of fuel pressure.
