More than likely it's not a gasket. The thing to check first is the drain valve on the fuel bowl, there are two O'rings where the drain valve connects to the fuel bowl on the back side towards the firewall. You don't say what year PSD you have, there was a design change I believe in 94.5. Some has three bolts and some four. Takes a #20 Torx driver for the bolts. The O'rings are 1/2" OD X 1/4" ID. The whole drain valve if boken is available from Ford or IH truck dealer. I paid $54 in Alaska for one in 07.

There is also O'ring fittings on the fuel bowl sensors and lines to the Hi pressure fuel pump.

Check all those first. Use Viteon O'rings when ever possible, original are Buna-N they get hard from heat and leak.

Please put your truck in your sig., makes it easier to feed back info for the PSD's , many changes made from 93 to 2003.

1997, fuel is coming from intake or head gasket, can watch it run down into valley. Leaks when cold.

Impossible for fuel to come from either place you mention.

The fuel is pumped into fuel rails one on each side which supplies fuel directly to the injectors.

Check where lines connect to the rails.

Low pressure fuel pump, lines going to said pump, and drain valve on filter housing are the most common.
