does a 88 dash fit in a 85 cab

i just did a cab swap to my 88 7.3 project truck i got all the wiring in, the clutch pedal is in but the dash don't seem like it wants to fit has anyone put an 88 or brick nose dash in an 86 before?

it will fit but you will have your work cut out.
best to go with the 87-91 wiring too.
yes the pedal brackets are different from the 83-86 from the 87-91.

i guess ill just use the 86 gas dash i just have to find a 86 diesel gauge cluster

i put the pedals in from the 88 into the 85 with no problem everything fit perfect ?

How's the column (besides the steering wheel itself) different?

Column swaps just fine if you change the aluminum bracket that holds the column in place. Just took the column out of my 89 parts cab and swapped it into my neighbors 85 which had broken internally.
