What are my options for installing cruise control on a truck that wasn't made for it?
I want dash mounted switches. Engine is a 7.8 TDI Cab is an 87 F series.

I just did this!

I like the hard way, so I swapped the entire dash outta a '91 F-150 that had cruise... complete with pedal supports and steering column, wiring harness...

But looking at it, if you grab the cruise servo (outta just about any Ford), grab the VSS, and the control box unit from under the dash, you should be golden! Oh, the steering column too, of course.

The wiring is a "stand alone" from the rest of the wiring harness, so adapting one in is not that tough. I have a complete kit for sale if interested. Items are the harness and vacumn hose, the fender mounter actuator, the "brain" and the steering column harness. you will need two external inputs and two external grounds and one vacumn source in addition to the pieces.
