Correct transfer case fluid/oil

I'm checking/changing all the fluids on my "new to me" 1984 f-250. Everything I've read to this point suggests that the transfer case needs ATF but what came out of it sure looks like gear oil to me. Could someone confirm what I should be filling this thing with?

The ATF is for the bw1356.
Is yours the 1345?
I believe it takes the same. Never owned one, so can't say for sure.

I'm not sure which model it is and there's too much grime on it to see any markings. I was hoping to do the fluids first and then take it to the car wash, clean it up, and check for fresh leaks. Fwiw Orillys lists ATF for both 1345 & 1356

I've run sae30 synth in both with no issues
