Just found an intercooler kit on e-bay that the seller rates at 700 CFM, with a pressure drop of 0.2 to 0.5 PSI at 15 PSI with a physical size of 27”x7”x2.5” and 2.5” inlet and outlet. He claims 21”x7”x2.5” core size. His kit includes 2.5” aluminum tubing, connectors and couplers. The core is tube and fin design.

The company is FMP Racing. Anyone have experience with these guys? The price is right at $275.00 for the whole package. I wish the core was tall and skinny rather than short and fat considering most cooling is done at the intake. My only question is what’s the delta T at 10 to 15 PSI.

in the order of airflow;
hot side.turbo out to intercooler:
use existing blue banks 2.25" Hump Hose Coupler w/ upgraded T-bolt clamps 2 x 2.25" T-bolt clamps
1 x 2.25" Aluminized Steel, 3.00" Radius, 45 Degree Mandrel Bend
1 x 2.25" Silicone Straight Coupler with 2 x 2.25" T-bolt clamps OR a weld.
1 x 2.25" Aluminized Steel, 3.00" Radius, 90 Degree Mandrel Bend.
1 x 2.25" Silicone Straight Coupler with 2 x 2.25" T-bolt clamps OR a weld.
1 x 2.25" Aluminized Steel, 3.00" Radius, 90 Degree Mandrel Bend.
1 x 2.25" Silicone Hump Hose Coupler with 2 x 2.25" T-bolt clamps.

the install of this FMIC w/ 2nd gen banks wastegated sidewinder into the 9th gen truck,is very straight forward and takes just a few hours.
if a guy had a welder,no doubt the job wouldn't even take a whole day.

My intercooler is sitting in front of my truck ready to be mounted. Top brackets seem easy enough, how did you secure the lower brackets? Any pics?

Too restrictive, I had the same one on my truck for about an hour with horrible results.

best to leave the bottom alone/unbolted.unless you suspect vibration.in this case you could use light gauge basketry that would flex/brake rather than have your cooler take the flex and crack.
i put some light gauge brackets on chip truck and last i checked at least one side of the bracket was broken if not both.as long as the cooler can't wiggle and vibrate against anything,best to leave the bottom alone imo.i didn't even mess with mounts of any sort on the bottom when i installed it in log trucks.
i suppose the "correct" thing to do would be to mount the upper with the good strong brackets like we did,and then for the lower rig up some sort of rubber shock absorbing type...but i don't suspect its going anywhere anyway lol.best to leave it loose,rather than flex with the truck and crack the cooler.
