Wife's keys were stolen from right in front of the house(so they know where I live)

I need to rekey the truck but would like to have one key for both the doors and the ignition. Just like I do now. It seems everyone sells either the ign cyl or the locks with new keys, but not both together. Has anyone put a tumbler kit in a door lock before? Part numbers?

I bought a complete set from NPD that was door and ignition. OE ford. It was expensive but worked. There are other places that sell complete sets too. Let me look.

Personally, I've never done it but any locksmith oughta be able to.

I'd have them key the ign to the doors... only 1 re-pin instead of 4

your locks will never know the difference between gasser or diesel.

Are you sure there aren't CARB approved locks? :)

I meant the ignition cylinder. I've never had a reason to remove mine so I don't know what it looks like. I've never understood why they always list the F150/F250 but never the F350 if things like this are the same. I ran into this with a couple of other things as well.

92 up I believe use same key doors and ignition. 91 down use two different keys.

This is stupid simple to fix....

Buy two door locks w a key

Buy an ign switch w a key

Install the cylinders

Take keys to locksmith have him cut one side of key with door cyl and other side with ign cylinder...voila...one key....now copy that key...put new chlinder keys in a safe place..spares etc.

Bob's yer uncle

on "most" older trucks, the offset on the door key is opposite of the ignition key. that way it prohibits the insertion of the wrong key.
you "can" at one time order "fleet tumblers" where the door and ignition offset was the same. that cut down on the number of keys needed to be cut.

I did that with my 92 IDI. One key for two locks. I put a small notch on the ign side, to save time.

Thanks for all the input guys! I just ordered the kit I listed above. Both the truck and the suburban were $100 apiece for complete re-key kit. The truck needed it anyway. The ignition was getting loose and the key could be pulled out no matter the ign position. I probably could have started that thing with a toothbrush.

I'm going to get stabbed on the Honda though. #$4&@ chipped keys and immobilizer unit.......

All of this was entirely avoidable.
