The passenger side tierod end broke where it meets the steering knuckle. About 10-20,000 miles ago I messed up the threads on that one while instaling new tierods all around. I didn't realize I botched the install but the alignment guy at Les Schwabs did and he had to replace that rod end. Does anybody know if Scwab's parts are known for being crap? I paid enough for it. Good thing it pulled apart in the driveway as that was the end of my steering. Ripped the threaded stud right out of the rod end.
Anybody else have this problem? Is there an upgrade to avoid it in the future? This is just a farm truck/ trailer tower with stock tires. It doesn't see hard use.
Thanks for any help
Nick

I've had that issue before, but it was on a worn joint. I've never had better luck with one brand over the other, but mine are at somewhat steep angles. Stock trucks I think they should last years and years.
Though, typically, I do shy away from Schwab chassis parts as they are pretty pricey.

Might look into Spicer parts, not sure if they make steering linkages though.

Moog is pretty much the only way to go with these heavy front ends.
The cheaper stuff is "ya get what ya pay for".
