I found this:
http://kansascity.craigslist.org/car/344736514.html

I have a 1995 F250 4x4 with a flatbed. I'd take the flatbed, wheels, and other good parts off mine and sell it. I need to talk the wife into this somehow. My 1995 has some body damage and isn't too clean. What do you gusy think a beater 250 4x4 with 460 is worth?

I was going to remind her how much better mileage this thing will get. What else can I say to convince her this is the way to go.....?

I found some pictures. I paid $2300 for this a year ago. Do you think I can get that back out of it?

Definitely take better pictures before you try and sell it. But I wouldn't see why you couldn't get your money back so long as it's in decent shape without a ton of miles. I'd say the price of gas is going to be your hardest selling point, and maybe throw a regular bed on there first to raise the value.

yeah i'd say if your gonna put the flatbed on the IDI then take the bed from the IDI and put it on the 460. and take some good daytime pictures, i cant see a thing but part of that is my POS monitor.

i solid 250 4x4 with a strong motor is worth something.

Thanks guys. I'm having a hard time with the wife. She says I need to save my lawn mowing money. Maybe I should wait until a one ton with a solid axle comes along. Yeah, I was going to swap beds. I definitely need better pictures. I guess I never took pictures of that truck.

Hey - did 80-86 F350's have a solid front axle?

250's never did. The 350's did around 85 or 86'.

Mine came out of an 85 F350. It was tagged with a production date of 10/84, but was also a cab and chassis, which might make things different.

My 89 F250 has a Dana 44HD TTB axle and my 84 did as well. I believe that the Dana 50TTB came on extended cabs and truck equipped with the "snowfighter" package.

Thats good to know considering that I have to replace the wheel bearing shortly. I thought I heard they used Dana 44's but I wasnt sure. Thanks for that.

The hub on a Dana 44 is about two thirds the size of the one on the Dana 50. I realize you have to find one of each to see the difference though. Somebody will probably post the diameter in inches.

You would think that they would cast what model axle it is on the housing. I looked under there and couldnt really find anything that said for sure it was a Dana 44 or Dana 50.
