Due to the fact that the pictures show a 085, and the fact that JPM4 said that they had to wait until Ford made some transmission updates, I would guess that would be it. By the time that the E4OD came out, they were probably selling the 088's. One update could have been a different transmission dipstick tube so that it would clear the turbo.

The 085 kit wont fit the e40d or zf5 (really doesnt ever fit zf) bellhousing without mods. all the 088s I have delt with fit either just fine.
