I'm hearing a light squeal under the hood and checked the play in clutch fan and seems OK but don't turn very fast so thought I would ask to see if there was a way to test as these things are high dollar?

When warmed up, it should turn fairly easily.
But you can't just hit it and have it keep spinning.

You may have a pulley going bad. With it running, watch all the pulleys. See if any are wobbling.

1994 should be serpentine belt... check for cracks on the ribs, glazing on the back, and tensioner play. Most ford tensioners have an arrow and a good range. If yours is maxed, the belt has stretched beyond use.

I'd suspect the belt before the fan clutch.

Check your idler and tensioner. The tensioners such on the serpentine trucks, I've had both styles grenade, carry a spare and keep am eye on them.

In regards to the clutch fan: look for any signs of dirt/lube coming out of the seal as that's a sure sign it's on it's way out.

Good luck
