So the truck was hard to start the other day in the morning got to work went to leave and nothing just clicking got the batteries checked all good. Got truck running but the batteries are not being charged. The moron gauge on the dash shows its at like 14 but nothing coming out of the alternator. Checked all the connections all tight but still nothing comeig out of alternator. Took it off had it tested and passed both times put it back on started truck but still no voltage out of orange and black wire. Found some trouble shooting through google said with the key on there should be 12 v at the green/red wire and the yellow wire in the 3 pin connector but there is not any. Also said if there is no pwr at these wires to ck fuse #17 in the pwr distro box the fuse was all good but the alternator is still not putting out any pwr. Also while troubleshooting the alternator noticed that all to familiar smell then saw a puff of white smoke from the fwd glow plug harness turned off key and found forward most wire and connector melted and fwd pin in uvc gasket melted. So my ???'s are where should I start with the alternator issue. Truck info a 92 4x4 with a 97 psd in it
