I have a 1998 12v 2nd Gen 5.9L
The engine dies when I come to a complete stop with the air on.
Is there a relay that advances the idle when the a\c is turned on?
I can run all day down the road and never die but when I come to a stop with the air on my truck dies. I can not figure it out for the life of me. Any ideas?..

I also have an issue with the tranny shifting into 3rd or 4th (around 50mph) from a lower speed.
has anyone else had this problem? If I am accelerating up to speed I have to let off the throttle at about 50 mph to get the tranny to upshift into 4th I think becasue after that I can do 100 mph.. Is there a solenoid that would cause that as well?

Any help will be greatly appreciated..

The idle does NOT have any high idle anything, where the idle lies is where it lies. What happens a lot is the bolt that is used as the idle stop gets worn off from vibration. sounds like you need to bump the idle up. If memory serves correctly it takes a 10mm wrench.

I don't have any answers for you on the auto tranny as I had a manual and really didn't pay much attention to the guys with the auto's because I didn't have that kind of tranny.
