My clutch has slipped twice in me, both times while pulling a boat in overdrive, and I would take it out of gear, slow down, and then give it another go, it would not slip at all.
I spoke to a ford mechanic and he said there is a part that moves the shift fork. This can get dirty and stick, so it needs to be greased. Can anyone shed any light on this. I remember reading that it's as simple as removing a cover to get at it, but that is tougher on a 5 speed because the cover is smaller.
If anyone has done this before, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
