My brake pedal is showing symptoms of a leaking brake system (soft pedal).

Concerned that perhaps a wheel cylinder or front disk caliper had failed, I pulled the tires/wheels and see nothing but clean dry components.

I popped the hood and see that my brake MC is weeping from the bottom, and the reservoir is low on fluid (25% filled).

Given no appearance of brake fluid at the calipers/wheel cylinders, I suspect the brake MC is failing internally.

Strangely, when pumped 2-3 times, the brake pedal holds steady--no gradual loss of pressure.

Can someone please inform me of how to determine which brake master cylinder I have on my truck? The replacement auto parts sites show several--JD5, JD7, JB5, JB7.

thanks!

Solved my own question; found that it was among the dozens of RPO (factory codes) on the data plate/sticker inside the glove box. JD5
