83 300 I6 generator questions

Hey guys, i know this isnt a diesel, but im hoping you can help me. im working on the transmission on a generator set. the engine is a 300ci I6 carbed, and the trans is a 4 speed with reverse. all i could figure out is that the trans is from 83. does anyone know if the trans would be the same as what you would find under the trucks of that year (borg warner/new process?) or where i could look to find this info? thanks for any help!

What kind of generator set has a transmission? Usually the generator is directly driven from the motor at 1800RPM.
The transmission that would have been used in its truck application is a Borg Warner T-18. It is a fairly good size cast iron unit of toploader construction. It would also have a PTO blockoff plate on the side or maybee even a PTO depending upon application.
