I don't know if this makes any sense I'm not too much of a mechanic I've always welded and worked in the mines not much mechanic work but I've been around some good ones ... I think it's sucking the fuel out of the filter and then just dying out I have plans to replace the pump but I haven't yet I haven't had the money to waste on it I've only had the truck a few weeks but it kills me to see it setting in the yard it's set for over three years I have to replace all the front end parts too

You could try running it off an outboard motor tank or some other container to isolate the problem (eliminate fuel tanks and lines before lift pump)

Problem is, there's lots of places.
Start with the rubber fuel line between the frame and lift pump.
Then all the hard line olives.
Don't forget about the fuel heater, water drain, and return lines.
Another place to leak is the filter restriction sensor.

I'll have to order the olives from conestoga diesel I'd say I can't find them online ...as far as filter restriction sensor I'm not sure where it is .... I'm gonna put a long hose on my lift pump and run it to a bucket of diesel and see if it will run maybe they will help me narrow the problem down
