not really a rebuild but since i dont have a specific thread on this truck ill start one. my ext cab is on hold until after the rally.

I had a guy offer me this 1985 F250 reg cab 4x4 XLT lariet in trade for my 86 F150. only 134k on it and its got power windows, locks cruise, air, tilt and lots of rust.

but its a 6.9L diesel with an aftermarket turbo and a rebuilt jasper c6. i was dumb not to make the trade....

then i got the hair brained idea that i need to take it to the rally... well now its time for some paint.

back of the cab is now painted and sprayed with some cheap clear i had. next is getting the bed of and off the ground and getting the wheel lips repaired...bed floor welded up... and put back on the truck. im going to paint the front of the bed like i did the cab so when everything is bolted down i can paint it all at once.

i wouldnt say im broke....just putting things into perspective. this truck will never be a show truck and wont be perfect....the cab has enough issues that ive repaired but as wth most trucks up here even a repair might go 10 years at best.... i probably wont have the truck that long.

here are todays progress shots. finished fixing the rear wheel wells...removed the rear bumper and fixed the tail gate.

You know, with that box being a little newer, it gives the truck a slanted look. Heavy in the front and it looks angular and lighter in the back. Hey, it looks like it's moving even as it is sitting still!

Cool progress! I wish I knew the first thing about bodywork and painting.
