    well the fuel pump is done and didnt need to bend a great snapon wrench, have a son with small hands!!! comes in every time!! but still acts like its running out of fuel?? so now what??

    i think so there was some grime in the bottem i tried toget , the spring in the fpr was broke i fixed that by adding a 3/16 shim

    i cleaned the fpr , turbo looks fine little dirty,the oil i will change in the morning ,it has 287000 miles, i pluged the code reader in , and nothing!!

    ok i changed the fuel -lift pump, replced the old hoses, and the same problem!! it acts like its running out of fuel at high rpms, then runs bad goes from 2800 rpm to 1000 rpm fast, still smells like raw fuel,then it stays there till i stop and just sit and idle for a few then i can go again ...

    ok im back , now i need any tips on changing the fuel pump on a 97 psd fed admin. its a turbo. any special tools needed or what? what should i look for? :dunno

    i hear you, , the tag is good , i have a wabo card ,cert. welder, so im ok there but the tag is great!! i use the wheel straps with the flatbed, but spoons on the other truks.

    you can make them yourself i did!!it was easy,shit why buy things if you can do it yourself!! i fabed my own reciver hitches with c chanel and all thread!! as well as a motor cycle carrier for the wheel lift!! its easy, a welder, torch,hammer,steel and beer you can do anything!!

    i cleaned the fuel reg screan, and shimed the spring in the fuel reg. mine was broke. next i want to try the timing thing you wrote on. but the fuel shim thing was great, i streached the spring a little longer and what a difference!! more top end power and it rapps up quicker in the mid range...

    you can advance the timing , you need to use a resister check his stuff out . i did a little checking and it can be done and as you know when you have one on the hook you want toget it over and done with!! and this slow stuff isnt cutting it!!

    fuel pump is fine but i know its a fuel issue , i think now that it maybe the timing not letting the injectors fire right?

    no , but it is a pain in the *** just replace the flywheel and clutch when you do it!! i didnt and had to do it again!!

    i have a 97 f450 with a 7.3 , its a b.... to start in the morning, then while driving you smell raw fuel. i went to motor trucks, to get the cam poss senc. replaced after the recall, thats when this all started. i never recived my 400 back for the recall!!:dunno
