1995 Alcoa rims on an 84?

It'll never work, send them to me for proper disposal.

    Trip report:

Awesome post. I love seeing other people out exploring in these trucks. I have the same tires on my rig, THAT is some serious mud. I used to love that stuff, when I had Boggers. Now I'm happier on a good dirt road.

    Burning ATF

I do this also. I had an issue with a metering valve sticking. Put the ATF in and I knew the second it hit the metering valve. Now I run a little every month or so as preventative maintenance.

Treadwright Retread Failure at 75 MPH

I LOVE my KM2's in this size. I can't say enough good things about them. They run smooth, quiet, carry weight well and they grip like crazy. I've only put the truck in 4x4 once since I put them on. With my Dunlops I was in 4x4 at least once a week. I'm looking forward to trying them in...

whats up with fuel leaking out of this little rectangular connector

If your local Ford dealer has a good parts counter they can get the O-rings too.

    Single Stack?

I like stacks on your truck. Not mine. I like super-quiet stock exhaust on my truck.

Pulls to the Right, Then Drives Straight Again

I think I'd be checking the wheelbearing first. Then brakes, then the rest of the front end. Check the bearings and brake on the rear of that side too.

    Return line clamps

I use a pair of Kleins. The end of the jaws on them are wide and grippy.

    LOSING WATER

Two places I have had hard to find coolant leaks are: 1) Heater hose, right where it attaches to the block on the passenger side. Mine had a little tiny tear in it right there that barely leaked until I grabbed the hose and wiggled it. 2) Overflow hose. This one was a giant pain to find...

    Speedometer issues

I don't know why I forgot to respond to this, my speedo still isn't working and I don't know why. I pulled the cable end out, spinning it with my fingers while watching the speedo, it looked to be working fine. The gear on the end looked fine and the gear in the transfer case looked fine and...

    Glow Plug Buzzer

GP buzzer!? Door buzzer!? Huh, I must have got the buzzer-free package.

    bedside replacement

I've never done a bedside on one of our trucks, but with every other one I've done, had to take the bed loose and set it back, so you could get to the spot welds on the front side of the bed.

    progress on the crew cab

Just this one. Not mine, but it'd sure be cooler if it was.

Oh my...considering possibly parting with my truck.

I drive my IDI 50 miles a day. Couldn't be happier. I get around 20 MPG. Maybe you should look into improving the fuel mileage and reliability of your truck, and teach the woman to drive stick, it's not like it's hard to do with an IDI.

    Speedometer issues

Howdy, I've got an 89 F250. It started out as a 2wd, C6 truck, but I've swapped in a ZF5/1356 and dana 60 from a 90 F350. When I did the swap, I replaced the speedometer cable, because the old one was very obviously broken. The speedometer has been reading a little slow since the swap...

finally snapped pics of my rig!!

You don't have trip permits and gap coverage where you're at? All I gotta do here is print off a 3-day trip permit from the DMV website and my insurance automatically covers me for a month from purchase. Heck, I drove from the southern tip of Florida to here on a Va trip permit.

    Mileage

I have a ZF, 3.55's and 235/85s. If I cruise around at 55 or less with the AC off I can get 24 MPG. Normal city/ highway mixed driving I get 19. I can get a whole lot worse if I'm in a bad mood. Normally I have a VERY light foot.

    disturbing noise

Have you checked the oil? Friend of mine ran really low on oil, caused issues with the lifters and caused a loud popping in the intake. He filled it back up and didn't seem to have any further issues.

    starter for an anchor reel?

There is a huge amount of reduction on them. I took pictures of the setup on my fuel truck to show this. A normal Bic pen is in a each picture for scale. It's still pretty easy to stall the motor out if the hose gets caught on anything, even little small stuff that you'd think it would just...

    Pic request: F-350 4x4's with stock suspension/wheels running 305/70 or 33x12.50

I had made the decision to go with 285's until I parked my truck next to my buddy's truck with 315's. My truck sits higher than his and mine is on stock tires, so I really don't know what I want anymore, ha. I think Rotbox's truck looks right about perfect.

how many miles does your idi have?

My old 86 f250 had somewhere between 1,200,000 and 1,500,000. The original owner lost track after that. It had had a couple of motors, quite a few transmissions and several sets of springs. I finally sold it when the transmission went out on me the second time. The body was wasted from rust...

how many miles does your idi have?

    455,000. 450,000 as a 2wd, C6 truck, now it's got a ZF5 and a dana 60 and looking forward to another 450,000.

    Track Bar

I don't have one. Or, all of one. I have half of one attached to my axle. You can actually see it hanging down near my passenger tire in the pictures. Awesome, thanks!

    Track Bar

Howdy, I'm finding myself in need of a trackbar for my f250 converted to F350. Can't find one anywhere, even the junkyards. Anyone have any suggestions? Oh, and a picture of the truck for S and G.
