Just ordered a set of injectors from Russ, I had been considering a set of the stage one injectors that R&D has but wasn’t really sure I need them for the power level I’m going for. Now I’m just trying to decide on the IP thinking about going with an R&D 80 or 90 probably the 80 because I don’t...
I looked at the websites for moose and classic diesel, just kinda wondered if one of the shops was better to go with. I’m really surprised and happy to see how many more choices there are now for our trucks compared to years ago. They all seem to sell parts that can push way more power than...
Hard hot starts and some white raw diesel smoke. Any suggestions on which company to go with, last time I owned one of these trucks you only had two choices for anything other than stock a moose pump and one from Ken at dps I think. I was thinking about a 90cc pump would be good, not too crazy...
Hi everybody it’s been quite awhile since I’ve been on here, I just recently bought a clean rust free 94 f350 factory turbo with low miles. It was a barn find the original owner passed and it sat in his barn for about 15 years till his wife decided to sell it. The truck has fueling issues so I’m...
I adjusted the actuator rod and its now holding the waste gate shut. Hopefully that fixed the problem, is the air pressure leaking out the oil lines of the turbo normal or does it have bad oil seals? If 10psi of air leaks then wouldnt 40psi of oil leak?
I got the actuator off and the lever moves freely and I can close it so light doesn't get through the wastegate. The actuator was holding it open does thatean that the actuator is bad and if it is where do I get one or can it be fixed?
I tested the gauge it works. I pulled the turbo off lastnight and looked in the hot side and I can see light coming through the waste gate looks like a big gap what can I do to fix it. Do I need to have it rebuilt?
I wasn't getting any boost so I built a leak tester I put 10psi on the turbo and sprayed all the connections with soapy water. I couldn't see any leaks but noticed air coming out the oil line so I took the intake hat off and found oil in the intake. I also noticed that the wastegate valve is not...
It sounds like a broken flex plate when mine did that the center was broken out and it would still start and only made noise with no load. I drove mine about that far to get it home not knowing at the time what was up, happened to me at the grain elevator.
I personally don't like mechanical pumps anymore. I have had four of them fail and pump the crankcase full of fuel two on idis one on a gas engine and one on an old Oliver tractor.
Here is a link to the ad http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/pts/4649541477.html what do you think a fair offer for it would be if it seems legit I was thinking 200 maybe 300? since i cant see it run he said he would give me a receipt that said he would give me my money back if I put it in and...
I'm going to go look at a 6.9l on Saturday to possibly replace the 7.3 in my 93. Its supposed to have very low miles after a rebuild the truck it was in got tboned and the engine got pulled. Is there anything I should look for when I go see it, or anything that may be a problem putting it in my...
Thank you for all the reply's, I was looking for the lift rings today I think one is with the fuel filter bracket and couldn't find the other. I was thinking maybe it was removed to put the bracket in for the banks filter box, I have the newer sidewinder.
I have a 93 7.3 and am pulling it to reseal. Before I start I need to know if I can pull it with the turbo or if I need to remove it first. I also need to know where the lift point would be since i cant use a carb plate and any other helpful info or tips. I have removed and rebuilt a gas engines...
My oil pressure has dropped to about 6psi hot, the oil felt thin like there was fuel in it. So i changed the oil and replaced the lift pump, and the oil pressure went back to around 20psi. It's now dropping again and was wondering what else this could be, ip or injectors? I replaced the ip and...
I ended up replacing the tensioner and the idler. The tensioner came off in two pieces and the idler did not spin freely. I would like to thank you all for looking at my thread.
I got it off the other day and didn't have to unbolt the steering shaft. I ended up unbolting the fan shroud and was able to jack it up just enough to slip it out the back in one piece. I use assembly lube on the o rings and a large bar clamp to press it back together, one side at a time then...
