So then why not use both during the winter? The TCW3 for lubrication and the Howe's for antigel. I usually use Power Service for antigel, but that's because a guy gave me a couple of gallons a while back. I have some Howe's in the bed right now (easy access for use while fueling up) because I was in Menard's a few weeks back and they had some on the shelf. It was about 15*, the north wind was blowing pretty hard (20MPH+), and my Power Service was at home. I bought some Howe's just in case. Honestly, I rarely even put anything in my tank for antigel. If it's supposed to get below about 5*, then I will. Otherwise, the stuff that comes out of the pump is good enough for me. FYI I run Optilube Summertime blend for lubrication. I put both Howe's and Optilube in my tank while filling up before heading home.

Problem I was having was the 2 stroke oil was making the truck hard to start. Even with howes and 2 stroke oil it was temperamental. That was running at 1 ounce per gallon of two stroke oil.

That's interesting. I don't believe that a ratio of 2 stroke oil such as that one, would cause hard starting problems. But stranger things have happened....I have been wrong before....lots!!!

Absolutely zero starting issues when I used the two stroke oil one oz per gallon.
What I do notice...the engine (maybe injectors) seen a little quieter and some blue smoke under a harder acceleration and maybe on extended idle.

My input probably doesn't count (12 valve) but when using howes meaner kleaner I notice significantly less coal, would probably be great for anyone have opacity emissions issues.

Only noticeable when its really cold. During the warmer part of the year I have no issues and run two stroke oil religiously.

I'm using a pint of two cycle oil per tank. Usually I put 12 to 14 gallons in per fill up, and a pint of two cycle, so that's a little over one ounce per gallon. I haven't had any problems with cold starts, even at -40. I do use a pint of Power Service white bottle along with it during the cold months.
