So what did you do with your truck today?

The truck has a Warn m12,000lb winch in between the aux fuel tanks and a roller on the bed. It works really well, but we needed the jeep to help get the whole truck back on the road. The truck empty weighs 10,300lb.

This truck is full of suprises

i am going to run a engine driven hydraulic pump in place of the a/c compressor. I would like to be able to set the motor at 1500ish rpm to get good gpm out of pump and be able to stand beside bed while i am dumping. Good idea on the temp sensor. Got the pump and the belt on tonight, next...

Does anyone know if i can unhook the high idle solenoid and just put 12v on a switch to activate high idle? What does that solenoid normally do with the plug attached?

I have used it before on jeep projects. Monstaliner is made by magnet paints which are known for making chassis saver paints. I like the stuff, worlds better than herculiner. It does smell though. Quick dry times. I sanded with a DA using 180 grit, trying not to go through the original...

This truck is full of suprises

i used my plasma a good bit because i didn't put a lot of time in that bumper. If i was doing one on a nicer truck i would use my vertical bandsaw. I hate grinding metal and cuts for weld, so i prefer a slower cut to save time on the grinders. Just me though. This truck is a hoot with no...

This truck is full of suprises

Well guys i have made some progress on black sheep. Painted the truck with monstaliner desert sand. 1 gallon did the cab, doors, hood, fenders and jams with two coats. Turned out decent, the truck is pretty beat up and this hides a lot of that, plus with my plans this should match what is...

No, i think the truck is a 93, its not a brick nose. It has the round turn knobs. Would one leaking return line cause hard starts? I guess at this point it would be good insurance anyway to replace them. Everything else is shot, those are too. Why do i insist on fixing junk.

This truck is full of suprises

This thing is at it again. Ok, so tonight i replaced the sending unit lock ring and seal. Put in new windshield wiper relay box, and new heater resistor. The resistor got my motor to run on all speeds, but i have no selection of air. I don't know where its blowing, but if i go underneath...

    Ford Rear Dana 70 1US or 1U8 ????

I have a dana 70 in my jeep cherokee. Mine is a HD model, and it has HD in the casting. What size axle tubes do you have? I think mine are like 4.5". I know they made several different types of dana 70. 70 B is a popular one as well. Mine came from a ambulance fwiw. Check pirate4x4.com for...

Shameless plug. I am in no way affiliated with this company, but working as an electrician in the coal mines, these were a vital part of preventive maintenance, and i have never seen them anywhere else: Runyen manufacturing grease bucket: There is not a better way to put gear oil in a...
