1995 6.5L in VAN vs 1994 6.5L TD in PICKUP
Well, the doner truck I was thinking of getting for my buddy sold. I wasn't really able to talk to him about it prior to the auction ending. It was a twin to my pickup (I have the other thread running here). I told him about a 95 6.5 engine in a van on Craigslist....not sure if he called on...- VanBoy

Well, gonna give an update here-most of my updates get typed on Diesel Place. Got the PMD relocation kit, "new" PMD. Dorman relocation kit, 2 "new" overstock PMD off of Ebay ($100.00 each), suppose to be a D-Tech and Dorman resistor kit. Used some heat sink past from Radio Shack (forget...- VanBoy

No, single drive line. I bought a Borg Warner branded one from O'Reily Auto. That I still have to replace. I thought it was the fuel pump since I heard noise, wasn't it. :( Still stalled on my down the road after 5 miles. (I even loosened the diesel fuel cap in case it was creating...- VanBoy

....some "issues".... Well, some issue have come up. It stalled on me a few times since getting it home. I was thinking it was the PMD, so I ordered a relocation kit and another PMD (Ebay had a smoking deal, so I took the risk- seller was selling D-Tech overstock, but no warranty...- VanBoy

Came to the Dark Side TOO (aka Just got a 6.5L TD)
Got the truck today (12/17). Drove fine for the 3.5 hr/200 mile trip. Maintenance records indicate the odo was replaced w/ used unit....it read 227,*** miles at replacement and now has 231,***. The original listed 137,*** miles, so that means this truck has about 141,*** miles.....- VanBoy

Ah, so it does have that electronics mounted on the pump then. Was it an option to not order a turbo? As in a 6.5L N/A? I'm sure the van is a 95 and has NO turbo.....- VanBoy

Okay, I might have the opportunity to obtain another 94 pickup w/ a 6.5L TD (wrecked front end). I have a buddy w/ a GMC van that needs a 6.5L diesel. I am told that the vans had NO electronics (just mechanical injection) and were not turbo at all (not till the 6.6L). So, here is my...- VanBoy

I've heard that the PMD was a big issue. Oh well, I guess I'll find out when I get it home.....it is a 2.5-3hr drive (just under 200 miles....and the speed limit is 60 on those two lane roads ...not a highway...)- VanBoy

A "new" VW diesel gets added to diesel family
Rethinking- rethinking project Okay, taking a step back..... This car ran before it got overheated and blew the head gasket and destroyed the head. As of right now, the only issue is the head..... reasoning. Simple.... the green streak of coolant near the cracks originated from above...- VanBoy

This may or may not be good advice..... Sometimes, there are car specialty dealers that will search for what you what... EXACTLY what you want. A friend wanted a Dodge 5.9TD, manual, 4x4, extended cab in grey... SHORT box. They were made, but not many. Guess what, guy found it at an...- VanBoy

Aftermarket overdrive/gear splitter questions
That 1977 IH w/ the Formula 290 in my signature.... THAT is a project in the works. Already have enough $$$ dumped into it to turn back. Just some wiring (spaghetti to "work out" :rotflmao ) and redoing the interior (pulled interior stuff out of another IH). I bought it sight unseen..... just...- VanBoy
