    Rebuilt 7.3 heads

Here are some pics, heads were rebuilt by Indian Creek machine shop, new valves, springs and knurled guides. There is a little bit of surface rust but otherwise still look pretty good.

Aftermarket air filter-- how best to route CDR gasses?

I got fuel/oil rated 1" hose from a hydraulic supply shop. It is a little pricier than heater hose, but it won't get all spongy and start seeping oil every where. I ran the hose from the CDR on the valve cover to a home built catch can and then to a 1" 90* elbow on the intake. I shaved the...

    Front clip swap?

You will need a diesel core support but the rest of the body parts can come from any 92-96 truck. I put a 95 clip on an 85 truck and it bolted on. The only odd spot was by the bottom of the front pillars but not sure if that would be an issue on a brick nose. Your current bumper might...

    Rebuilt 7.3 heads

Have a set of 0 mile rebuilt heads from a 1990 7.3IDI. Heads were rebuilt due to believed blown gasket, only to find cavitated cylinder. Heads were torqued on block and removed, never fired. Been stored inside for the last few years, paid $600 for rebuild, out of the IDI game but would rather...

    Idi-t flywheel advise

I probably could have lived with it, but I could tell something was off and I didn't like the shifter wobbling in my hand. Vibrations like that can hurt things given enough time.

ATS 088 Custom Intake. Where to connect CDR tube?

This is how I routed mine. I had the 093 valve cover with the CDR attached, ran the hose to a catch can and then back to the intake. It worked pretty good, it caught a lot of oil that would have otherwise gone through the intake.

    Idi-t flywheel advise

I'm surprised you dealt with it that long. I accidentally put a turbo flywheel on a non turbo motor and drove it down the street once before pulling it back out.

Freshly surfaced flywheel for 6.9 in Idaho.

I have an OEM flywheel from a 1986 F-250 with a 4spd. It has just over 100k miles of use. It was just resurfaced 2 weeks ago. We are doing a 5spd swap and my buddy accidentally had this one redone instead of the 5spd unit. Only asking $30, would rather not ship. Located in Kuna, Idaho.

    6.9 tach died

Have you tried taking the tachometers apart? The tachs in the 80-86 trucks are fairly notorious for failing. If you remove the back and look at the circuit board, there may be a yellow goo covering most of the soldered connections. I guess as time goes by it spreads and becomes somewhat...

    An old friend: Build Thread.

We got the old gas tanks pulled and compared them to the diesel tanks. The fuel lines are the same size so we just replaced the lines from the motor to the switch valve since they route differently at the front. We also pulled the sending units to find that one cone was still in good shape and...

    An old friend: Build Thread.

The interior is all in except the dash and a few odd bits. We will need to find some caps to fill in the seat belt holes that are on the OBS window surround panels though. We will continue to use the lap belts in the rear. We finally sealed the OBS windows in and bolted them down as we kind...

    An old friend: Build Thread.

Wow, it's been awhile since we were able to work on this truck. My buddy ended up buying a car he used to own so we got sidetracked with that. I am going over tomorrow to begin installing the wiring harness and I believe he has most of the interior put in as well. We also got a ZF to put in...

    Seats

Heed these warnings, I installed a bucket/console combo in a bench seat truck and spent a day last year welding up all the cracks that were created by it. My buddy just found a crack last week that we missed last year. Here is a link to the build thread with a pic of the floor...
