Smoke But No Fire
Put a new CPS in today still no fire. Think it maybe the fuel pump now. Just for fun I opened the filter base and the fuel was down in it. Cranked it over a few time to fill it up. Put the cover back on and tried to start thew truck. Tried to fire a few times but still no money. Opened the base...- rmckee242

Slung it over a few times this afternoon. Turning plenty fast enough to fire. The tach isn't steady when spinning it and jumps at times, which makes me think the CPS may be flakey. If this is the case could it be bad and not throw a code?- rmckee242

Nah the superchipper just pulls the codes. I'm on night shift so if I get up in time today (Tue) I'll double check and make sure whether I have any movement on the tach when I sling it over.- rmckee242

Not the starter. Put a new one in about two months ago. A real starter from my local rebuild shop not one from some of the cheapo chain stores. I think the tach is moving. 1997 F350 five speed manual 275,000 on clock. Had made several short trips in the truck started it up to go home ran for about a minute and shut down. Loaded it on the trailer and hauled it home. Upgrade Time
Sounds like need to go with stage 1's and stick with the stock turbo. I do some towing and no racing. Just want a daily driver that i can show my ass in when the urge hits and the traffic light changes. Stage 2's sound good but i want to keep this thing dependable as a daily driver and not dump...- rmckee242

Upgrade Time
Looking for a little advice on upgrading my 97 F350, 7.3 with five speed ZF with 277,000 miles. Going to have to remove the turbo because of a nagging small oil leak. dipstick O-Ring replacement
When I replaced mine i removed the dipstick tube and inserted a round wire brush into the assembly on the oil pan. I tied the othe end of the brush off to the frame so wouldn't loose it all in the pan. Then just remove the nut clean the old stuff up and replace the o-ring. Be sure the brush is...- rmckee242

Rear Drums Heating
Got the flex hoses on the way. Black dawg is the RABS valve on the frame below the master cylinder with an electrical connection on the back? Replacing shoes,pads and master cylinders is the extent on my brake system experience on Ford diesels.- rmckee242

A friend has a 90 F250 4WD. On long trips the rear drums get extremely hot. This happened once before and one side got so hot the tire caught fire. Fuel Pump
I ground heated and bent a wrench to remove and tighten the banjo bolt. Double S and Animal are right leave the pump a little loose and two finger it. Lost my religion figuring that out when I changed my pump.- rmckee242

Oil Leak? on Cold Start
One more thing. Did some research now the question is do I raise the drivers side of the engine or not. I want to remove the entire assembly because I don't want to risk cracking the front cover.- rmckee242
