IMO, it's at or near the number one structural improvement you can make to a 6.9 or 7.3. The job is not "easy-peasy" but it's straightforward. Turbo v non-turbo mileage?
Installed Banks kit in '87 when the truck had 7K miles on it. Slight uptick in mpg for the same driving style. Anyone running first gen Banks?
Banks will still hand make the pipes... they saved the blueprints. Don't know if they will still do the pedestals. I have a 1st gen like that, installed in '87, but it's an automatic.- PwrSmoke

I could and I may but I will first see if LMC will make it right. The tricky part of resoldering a float is getting the fuel out of it first. It never drains as quickly as it fills ( : < ), unless you drill a hole first.Which then becomes another hole to solder.- PwrSmoke

Mpg is way down
A one time drop isn't necessarily something to worry about because, often as not, it's some error or a temporary change in situation that caused it. There are many things that can cause a drop in MPG, up to an including fuel that is more foamy than normal and you don't get as full a tank. This...- PwrSmoke

stuck fuel filter.
I second the strap wrench. Had one for 30 years. Used it maybe a dozen times over that period but when I did, it was the only thing that would work. If you use the strap wrench and place the strap up near the base, you have half a chance to get the filter off without crushing it.- PwrSmoke
