before pulling injectors, be sure to pick up new heatsheilds. VW guys say they cannot be reused because they make a crush seal and will not "re-crush"
check to see if you have bubbles in the clear fuel line out of the filter, this can be caused by air getting in from the water separater...

this is a good forum to start at, with the correct mods these motors will pump out 120-150 reliable HP and up to about 200 for those with deep pockets.

moog balljoints come with seals and grease nipples. also the moog come with instructions lol.
a 4wd ball joint kit (large c-clamp style with cups) will work with an impact.
i used to produce biodiesel commercially. yes WVO will have the same effect on organic rubbers ect... as biodiesel will, just not as quickly.

MLSC, just curious but why the emphisis on DO NOT? what will happen? was told that the dexron/mercon contain friction modifiers that cause the clutches to slip a little to provide a smoother shift. the type f doesnt have the modifiers and there will be better power delivery and firmer...
cascade dishwasher soap.....run it for 3-5 days. you'll be suprised at the amount of crap that comes out.

personally i use atf @10$cad/gal to a tank of fuel prior to each oilchange. i find it runs smoother, engine temp slightly higher under load though no real change in egt. id still call myself a novice to the idi but i recall reading that these motors enjoy running on atf. cant hurt can it...
well its accurate above 1k so ***** footing it around 60kmh its will shift to od, which drops rpm down i think in my case to an inaccurate tach reading confusing my poor e40d. i have not seem od light flash though im certain she goes into limp. if it was standard, D feels like im trying to...
i have the same issue, i noticed that when the tranny shifts to od (lock tc) the tach signal will drop below 1k telling the tranny to downshift. the higher rpm causes the tach sensor to be more accurate and the tranny will lock tc starting the cycle again. does this sound like your issue?
