didn't cross my mind to condemn typ4's injectors. i try to stay honest and believe typ4 and most other people do also - especially if they participate in this forum.
someday i'll start a thread with the question: "If you know a valve is bad, or brakes need work, etc., would you sell it...
found a loose injector - that quieted it down some. opened several others and may have found a bad one, but cannot tell for sure. will order several more just to have on hand and try another one.
my concern was that the lifters were worn or plugged.
glad to be a member of this site...
yes, i read that thread. blew out the area(s) with brake fluid before removing. used anti-seize on install
can i just open the fuel line a bit to isolate the injector being tested? or does the injector need to be removed? seems the latter might be messy with regards to the return lines.
injectors purchsed from from typ4 - BB's and pop-tested.
will crack each injector one at a time to see if it makes a difference. i am new to diesels so don't know the "sounds" they make when healthy or ill. will let you know.

doghouse off the motor. new bb injectors and return lines.
hearing a loud valve tap at highway speeds. still there at idle and low rpm's but not as loud. coming from passenger side. put auto-rx in the oil but no significant change.

also, what kind of transmission?
2wd, less than 10,000 GWV, automatic
thanks.

What tools will I need?
Any hints to make the job easier?
Any thing to watch out for?
Will it need alignment after the...

yep, that may be the way it will be fixed. really don't want to get into a "it works now, but I screwed up everything else" situation.
to complicate things, the cruise control switches are wired into the horn switch.
and of course, the box is below the master cylinder tubing...
Engine compartment - below master cylinder lines
thinking i'm going to have to trace horn wires into and out of the Power Dist Box
and test for voltage before and after the relay. a real pain because the wires are all bundled...

I am attempting to repair non-functioning horn. I cleaned the contacts at the steering wheel but did not see any "clock spring" set-up.
Following the cleaning, a "click" now occurs somewhere when horn switch is pressed ( but no horn sound). I removed the horn...
