Part fell out while changing the oil (bypass valve)
I could put everything back the way it was and re-stake it but I don't want to find this problem again. I called Conestoga Diesel and Mel had a cooler assembly that he could sell me with new O-rings. It's the newer style that has the snap ring which just feels better to me. I don't know how...- dbensen

Part fell out while changing the oil (bypass valve)
Changing the oil for the first time and these fell into the oil pan when the filter came off. What does this mean? Can I put them back in and pin them in like they were when it was made or do I have to replace the oil cooler end? Is this easier on the Powerstroke than on the IDI. Do I have...- dbensen

Just bought a 95 from out of state
Overall, it runs well. The characteristics of this engine make it feel a little underpowered when your just putting around, but it springs to life with a little peddle. Pulls very strong. Extremely impressed how it can move a four ton truck. She lights right up when the WTS light goes out...- dbensen

Well, Tuesday evening it arrived...... I guess low resolution pictures and movies don't lie. It is rough. A lot rougher than I thought a truck could be with only 155,000. As much as I didn't want another project, I think it just arrived. Positives are it has no rust which is really something...- dbensen

Van and truck steering columns?
How similar or how different are they. I found a column from a van in the pick and pull and it only has 13,000 miles on it. It's sad to see her getting picked to pieces and there is no guarantee that is still there from last week. Anyway, my '86 is very floppy, not tight like the van one...- dbensen

Okay, so, after spending probably two hours reading multiple articles on the CPS I ordered one that is dark grey with a blue O-ring. My head started to hurt with all the colors and model numbers that seem to make cylinders 3 and 8 cranky. Especially cylinder 8. I'll put the wrench and socket...- dbensen

WW, The service manager at the dealer where I bought the truck felt similar. No reason to go back to stock, just make sure you keep the filter clean. He said he has seen too many come through with packed air filters. Dirt was getting past and dusting the turbo. I guess, maintenance is always...- dbensen

Thanks guys. Feeling much better. It's getting loaded on a carrier as early as tomorrow. They speculate anywhere from a week to ten days. Apparently there are a lot of stops along the way. It's all good. I'll keep ya posted, D- dbensen

Just bought a 95 from out of state
Kind of a weird feeling. I'm in Maryland and my new toy is in Colorado. A lot of pictures and they did a video walk around. Nice solid rust free truck with 155,000. It has the extended cab and 4x4 which it was I was trying to find. Looked for around three months to find a '94 with the ATS...- dbensen
