    It's cast. The truck build date was 06/04. apparently, this was one of the last of the morphodyte change-over engines.

    Actually, it's a morphodyte engine. It was built right at the breakover. It has the wide rails, and the old style pump. I took it to a shop, and the mechanic pointed this out to me.

    Truck is an 04, so no STC fitting to worry about. Just changed the standpipes, and dummy plugs, and is still a long crank when cold, and no start hot. I unplugged the sensor on the passenger side valve cover, and nothing changed. Any ideas?

    Which still leaves me with having to modify the floor board, which is what I'm trying to avoid. Keep in mind, that the 12v is going to be completely stock. No horsepower mods. The only thing I'll be doing is running it through the 6.0 intercooler. Also, I'm not sure about the dodge transfer case...

    If I use a dodge transmission, then I have another can of worms on my hands with the clutch linkage.

    So I've got a 6.0 with an auto. I want to go 12v with a stick. I was told that I'd have to cut the floorboard out and raise it 2" to fit the ZF-6. Would a ZF-5 fit without butchering my floorboard?

    Is it my oil cooler, or something else?

    Well, this is a 7.3. I'm trying to get rid of it, and am trying to fix it, rather than driving it across the scales for scrap. Next time I'm home, I'll check the intake bolts. Can I use a jack on the pan rail to raise the engine? I don't have a hoist, or a tree strong enough.
