Btt...it seems to me that if the RABS sticks open, then adding a bypass line would give full fluid flow and the rears would still lock up....unless a proportioning valve was used.
My rears are locking up. I'm not sure if I want to bypass the valve or replace it.
I just noticed that my steering column moves down and to the left when I depress the clutch pedal. I guess this would explain the 1x1 piece of steel tubing that is welded from the floor to the column.
Too much firewall flex I guess. At least I know why the clutch grabs too fast :)
Truck is...
My clutch is engaging too fast. I have to push it all the way to the floor to disengage the clutch. I read a bunch of threads, but they always come up how to bleed or replace components, or how to replace the rod.
Did I miss a thread?
Finally got the zf5 installed into my '91 F350 4x4 cab & chassis. It actually runs and drives now for the first time in 4 years. It wouldn't start due to a single bad glow plug :)
It's a short wheelbase. Perfect for plowing snow. Too bad I don't live in snow country :(
The new SMF is a noise...
I can't get the main shaft race out if the housing. It doesn't have the notches cut in to allow my puller to fit. I've tried heating the housing with my propane torch for 20 minutes, but it won't budge.
Any other ideas?
