It says the required preload in that thread. Looks like .00079"-.00434" preload on each shaft.

For the countershaft you take the clearance and add between 0.00079"-0.00434" to this number and that is the required shim thickness you need to add under the front race on the countershaft tapered bearing. For the main shaft, you take the recorded clearance and subtract the thickness of the new oil baffle. Then add 0.00079"-0.00434" to this number and you have the required thickness of the main shaft front tapered bearing shim.

I can't get the main shaft race out if the housing. It doesn't have the notches cut in to allow my puller to fit. I've tried heating the housing with my propane torch for 20 minutes, but it won't budge.

Any other ideas?

I recall some races my 3 jaw didn't fit so i used a hook on the slide hammer. May have had to grind it a little thinner to get under it. Either that or screwdriver from back side to get it started on the lip?

Got it out. It had the correct shim, but the countershaft needs to go from .070 to .100
I can only find a shim kit for about $160
