The bench seats are the same front and rear on a crew cab so yes you should be able to put your track on it and use it. Those black seats would be awesome rear seats in a truck. Don't think they'd fit in my ext cab though.

I am going to go with the tan back death and swap the rails over. it's in great condition

I used some seats from the rear of a 2004 crew cab. Just had to notch the console some but drilled 4 holes and they fit my single cab perfect.

do not be drilling holes and mounting seats without welding in a reinforcement plate. you will have ruined a cab floor in a year or so.

X2!!! Had an 86 that the PO had done seats in and the floor was cracked to heck. I put a factory bench back in it.

Question... will a third row bench seat from a Navigator or Expedition work as a front bench in my 87?

I would think it's too narrow. Has to be to clear the wheels back there.

3rd row seats are generally narrower like a bronco rear seat. However, the Navigators and Expeditions that I've seen have a full width rear seat. No idea on the rails though.

You are correct my friend. just got a chance to inspect a expedition at work and yes it is significantly narrower.
The hunt continues...

Would anyone happen to know for sure I'd the second row seats from an expedition will fit my front seat rails.
Found some sweet ones for $35
