Ran into this 7.3 IDI rod at a diesel shop and thought you guys might enjoy seeing it. It was a 7.3L is a hard worked commercial truck. Evidently, the glow system was out so they were using ether on a regular basis. You could say this engine hit bottom with it's ether habit.

I would think that is ether plus a working glow plug or two. Takes a lot of force to do that, thats for sure.

that is crazy. makes me wonder what was going on, i can imagine some no caring workers just shooting that either in there like there is no tomorrow to get to a job site on time.

I bet some of the cylinder was in the oil pan. Its amazing how that rod bent and not cracked off. Surely the rest of the block was ruined byt this mess. Nice trohpy too. Those don't come along to often..

Built Ford tough. Amazing how tough those rods are.
