Run the duals and use a set of straight through big truck mufflers. Unlike glasspacks, they will actually dampen the impulses some so you won't be driving a headache machine. Then have a crossover pipe put in before the mufflers that connects the two pipes ( make sure to have the crossover installed with a removable joint that you can open up so youi can get the tranny out to replace the clutch without having to cut your expensive new exhaust. Make sure to use the band type clamp on the joint so it will be simple to remove it and put it back together, if you use a U bolt, you will have to tear it up to get it off and it will never go back on without leaking
The crossover pipe will cancel out some of the harshness of the dual pipes without hurting performance.
I drove an IDI with true dual 2.5 pipes and some kind of I think it had glasspack mufflers and that thing was a headache machine . Sounding cool is one thing, not even being able to hear your radio is another Around here they don't much care, but that sound level would get you a ticket in most states.
