Hey all, the cruise control on my '94 stopped working. If I'm not imaging it, it seemed like it was having a hard time holding the set speed on a few occasions before it quit completely. Any ideas on where to start looking?
I had my wiring harness for Cruise Control replaced, there is a recall on our trucks, risk of fire. Harness plugs in beside brake reservoir.I have 1994 IDI Turbo Diesel.
Thanks! I'm assuming that you had a dealership do the replacement, how long ago? Wonder if this is a viable option for the USA, I like new parts
Vacuum lines from the distribution block to the cruise control thing.

I'm thinking the 94 should be electronic and not vacuum. @saburai correct me if I'm wrong please, I thought the 92-93 and up were all electronic.
They replaced the whole cruise harness? I was under the impression that recall was just replacing the switch on the master cylinder.
Rich here's a sticky with diagnostic information. https://www.oilburners.net/threads/electronic-cruise-control-diagnosis.13161/ I know the wheel controls work on different resistance values, I don't remember what they are but they should be simple to check with an ohm meter.
I've got a hip that has seen better days not too mention a bunch of funky discs in my lower back and a broken neck. It's nice to be able to move around and stretch on longer drives without having to stop to do so....Cruise is nice and all, but what's wrong with your right foot?
Screw a wood block to the bottom of the pedal? Not to mention that my right foot is heavy and I'm not as strong as I once was
