I've got a whole list of repairs and upgrades I plan on doing to my 91 F-Super Duty next spring. Just to make it easier to do the work I'm going to pull the front clip off.

Since the front clip will be off I'm thinking about swapping to a 80-86 style front clip. I just personally prefer the looks of older body style.

I've got a 84 F250 4x4 gasser parts truck That I'm stripping/parting out and scrapping. The front clip needs some work but what the hell I'd just be scrapping it if I don't use it. :D

Now my question what if anything would be different on the front clip off a gas powered truck? I believe the core support is different and maybe the passenger inner fender panel(because the dual batteries ) . :dunno

ya the core support is different, its just easer to find a diesel doner truck, I put a 92 diesel front end on my 91 and it was a direct bolt in

With a diesel radiator support, it is really straight forward. The lower fender mount is different. It is horizontal on the '83-86 body style and verticle on the '91-97's. Easy to modifiy it. The cowl is needed as well, but gasser or diesel, it doesn't matter. The bumper mounts will need to be modified as well.

But, with a complete donor diesel, it isn't too bad.

After I buy all the parts I'm putting in I'm not going to have the cash to pick up a complete diesel front clip. I should be able to hunt down the core support for quite a bit less then a whole front clip.

I knew about the cowl, my 84 F250 has a good one.

The 80-86 frame horns are almost identical to the 87-91 style. The ends are actually the same shape, you will just have to drill the holes for the bumper bolts.
