what is this thing with a red cap on the back of the injection pump?

I'm not sure what it is. It's an adjustment of some sort. The center portion is threaded, and turns with an hex wrench. There is a lock nut to keep everything in place once things are adjusted to your liking. I'm too tired tonight to try looking up it's name or purpose.

Thats a don't touch me adjustment thingy....:sly I think its a fuel screw but some have tried messing with it. Kinda got a mixed review from changing the setting. Could be fuel or govener....:dunno

Look here, then don't mess with it. Your pic shows the cover in red, my pic shows the cover in white. It is a locked cover for the shaft in the center with the springs on it. It is NOT the torque screw.

Your pic only shows one cover. Some IP's have two, one for the torque screw and one for the shaft like mine does. I believe the torque screw is for a turbo IP.
