The only other thing that I was able to accomplish was to swap out the hood. The GTA hood just doesn't say "knight rider", so on with the "turbo bulge" hood.

So the "turbo bulge" serves no perpose for the most part, but if you have a TBI or carbureted firebird there is plumbing, an air filter housing, and an insert that makes it an actual cold air intake. These parts are rare and worth several hundred dollars if you find a whole kit. If you just have to have useless knowledge, look up a YouTube video called something like "how GM quashed Pontiac" it tells how right up to actual production Pontiac was going to put a 301 turbo charged Pontiac engine in the 82 firebirds, but GM shut it down. The offset bulge is actually to accommodate the turbo.

Lord willing, I'm going to spend a day next week at least mocking up the KITT bumper and get rid of the GTA beak looking bumper.

The turbo bulge changes the whole attitude of the car.

It was a few weeks ago now, but I'm finally having time to show and tell. I got my KITT bumper on. I'm way more pleased with this than I was with the Formula. I made some plates to extend the fog lights and turn signals up an inch and forward about 4" to accommodate the KITT bumper. It's not "screen accurate" but it looks slick. I also modified the ground effects to keep them, once again, not like the TV show, but this is the "artists conception" of KITT.

Here's a kinda before and after picture. The scanner bar is off in the future. You can buy premade ones, but I'm going to make my own to accommodate the hood latch.

My other exploit for KITT was to swap out the tail lights from the 91/92 GTAs lights to the 82-84s.

And then to make life more fun, I posted all my extra firebird parts on craigslist. They received no attention for like 2 weeks, and then I get a text for them. And then I mention KITT and I get the reply "IM BUILDING A KITT, TOO!!!" So now I have a knight rider dork friend in Crestview. If I get time, I'll share the multilayered weirdness of that story. Anyway...... remember.....one man CAN make a difference. Stay tuned for more adventures of The Knight Rider....

So much work and ingenuity. It looks great. Wish we were closer and I'd paint it for you. And I noticed an old Troy Bilt Horse tiller in one of the pics.. got one too!

Thanks @12pilgrim , and yeah that tiller originally had a Tecumseh engine. It's probably from the 70s. I have a Briggs and Stratton on it now, its a tough tiller.
