Excessive oil consumption
My '89 is right there with your truck in oil consumption. I go through about 1 gallon every 300-350 miles or so and it *totally* is burning it lol. I dont have mosquitoes (Michigan's state bird) anywhere near my house. I ended up having to relocate my CDR valve from behind the air filter...- Robert wood

PSD Oil fliter
Not sure about the hastings brand, but I recently changed the oil on my '89 and used the motorcraft brand Psd oil filter (the taller one). No issues or leaks so far.- Robert wood
