    Decided to rebuild the IDI

Since I'm taking apart the motor, do I need to worry about marking the timing on the injector pump at all for reassembly? Or should I go ahead and mark it just in case..... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

    Decided to rebuild the IDI

Compared to the passenger side it was. The passenger side #1 cylinder had rust all in it. Drivers side didn't. The passage from the thermostat was the culprit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

Got some more work done on the engine. Today I got the water pump off, radiator elbow, and drivers side head off. This side was muccchhhhhh cleaner than the passenger side smh. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

Are you running a turbo? I have a 7.3 with factory. 093 ATS turbo so they should have inconel valves right? Those valves and Retainers are like brand new jewelry for the idi!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

Is that with maching of the heads also? If my valves check out good I may reuse them or are the stock valves cheap enough to go ahead and replace? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

Forgot to add that I bought another 7.3 idi with a banks sidewinder full turbo kit Installed as a donor truck. I plan on replacing my factory turbo on my 94 with it and using some of the interior and exterior parts off of it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

    Decided to rebuild the IDI

Thank you thank you!!! I wasn't sure on what to use. As for the condition of the heads and block, what do u think could be done to get things back in order? From what I see, there is no sign of cavitation (hopefully). Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk

    Decided to rebuild the IDI

So I finally got around to getting the motor out (about 2 Months ago) and today I started tearing into the engine. I pulled the passenger head off and found out why I was loosing coolant. The head gasket failed right at the thermostat which caused water to enter cylinder number 1. I've...

    Decided to rebuild the IDI

At first i took the two bolts out and had no luck moving the engine so i took the ones off of the adapter plate. All grounding strap bolts have been taken off. Didn't take off the oil filter i will...

    Decided to rebuild the IDI

finally found a 4200lb cherry picker to pull the engine with but having an issue with getting it out. I removed all the bolts from the transmission, engine mounts (mounts are still on the engine), dipstick tube, and starter. I got the engine to move past the dowel pins but that's all. Something...

    Decided to rebuild the IDI

Nah I havent. Should I go ahead and do it before I remove it to check for cracks or anything before I rip into it? Weather has been kinda crappy so I haven't been able to do anything lately
