Yep, maniac, that would be a Hay-Pete. They were the last few to be built at the 2nd avenue plant in Vancouver B.C.. Pacifics were also built in North Vancouver B.C.. They were a direct competitor to the Hayes line of logging trucks. red- dego_red

Well. At the time I was there, Hayes was owned by Mack Trucks. Hayes had been building various trucks for over 50 years. There was the Clipper 100 that is what the Safeway truck was, the Clipper100 COE that had the Mack cab, the HD that was a on/off highway logger, and the HDX that was and still...- dego_red

DBogo, depending on what year that Hayes COE is, I may have built it. I worked for Hayes Trucks in Vancouver B.C. from 1971 to 1974 on the cab over line. It was the best and most fun job I ever had. :thumbsup: red- dego_red

I just wonder about all the people out there that have no guages to tell them when to back off. Never heard of any motors melting down in the U-Haul trucks, where most renters keep their foot glued to the floor, I was one of them before I got my first diesel.
