    1995 Rear Axle Into 1991 F-350

Also, anybody know which brake hose to use? The '95 uses a different part than the '91, different lengths at least. Eli

    1995 Rear Axle Into 1991 F-350

The 4L10 rear end in my '91 has all sorts of issues, and I found a '91 F-250 gasser rear for cheap. Are there any issues, or is this an easy swap? What speedometer gear should I use with a 3.55 replacing the 4.10 gear? Thanks! Eli

So what did you do with your truck today?

NOS on ebay, but not so cheap. I saw a Zenith with 8-Track sell for less than $100, and it was NIB. Eli

IDI into a Clark 55 loader

I'd play with the DD first, the 53 series is pretty resilient. Eli

So what did you do with your truck today?

Some Sony with BlueTooth, actually bought it for my CVPI last year - I switched it with the cheap 'Dual' brand that was in the truck because I wanted the BT capability in the truck. I get to switch rear ends this week, it looks like... upgrading to a later-model with 3.55 gears for less than...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I put a new stereo in Friday, discovered the under-dash wiring is a mess of crimp connectors, electrical tape, and wire nuts. The trucks runs really well, and is really solid, I hope it's worth the effort! Eli

    What editions did ford have?

E4OD started in '89, the C6 was still available for several years after the E4OD appeared. Truck sounds like it has some dealer customization, not uncommon back in the day. Eli

So what did you do with your truck today?

I wish I could find a high-top shell like that for my '91! My '90 had a camper with damage similar to yours, I ended up installing 8' long 1X2s with Liquid Nails and securely bolting the thing on. No further damage, and was tight against the bed! Eli

    Did that bolt together? Eli

88 f350 tilt cruise manual steering column

Wll it fit a '91? What's cost shipped to 77071? I need one, but shipping might kill it. Eli

    Another zf5 swap

Don't throw the C6 stuff in the scrap pile, some of us hate shifting - and hate electronics! Eli

    3 or 4 inch exhaust??

Last time I looked into this, the easy way was a Banks downpipe and intermediate pipe and a Diamond Eye PSD 'cat-back' kit to open it up - unless you put the entire Banks kit on. Not too cheap, but not ridiculous. Eli

Rear axle seals leak. TSB 94-19-24 (PN: F4TZ-1177-C)) - part dealership only?

Not to threadjack, but is there a good thread about seal & bearing replacement? My 'new' truck ('91 F-350 CC SRW) is leaking gear lube and the bearings sound shot, looks like I'm going to be doing both sides sooner than later and need to know which parts to use and the best prices. Thanks! Eli

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Are you trying to start it as soon as the WTS light goes out? On my old truck, I turned on the key, waited for the WTS light to shut off, then turned the key off and counted 20 seconds and did it again - except I started it the second cycle. Worked a LOT better than just trying to start it...

    Flexplate interchangeability

I believe the IDIT has different balancing, and this would create a severe imbalance issue - but I may be wrong. You need a standard IDI flexplate for an E4OD. Eli

Anyone using new Banks, Hypermax, R&D, or home made turbo kits?

For my truck - '91 F350 CC SRW - the Banks is about $450 less expensive (than the Hypermax) delivered to my door - but still over $3,000. I'll likely be getting a 'factory' (ATS) system and rebuilding it if I add a turbo. Eli

E350 van rear end with disc brake on F350, possible?

If the rotors are the same, does that meant he hub diameter is the same? I'm thinking it might be easier to re-drill the front and use the dirt-common and cheap later hub-centric rims on the older trucks. Any idea how much wider the rear ends are? ETA: Can you just use the van hubs and rotors...

    Experience with GV install anyone?

My '90 SC had a 3.54LS, and was in bad tune - compared to my '91, REALLY bad tune. I towed a '48 Ford Club Coupe on a car hauler, 5,000-6,000 lbs, and had no issues. I say install the 3.54 gearset and a turbo! That motor can take 2800-3000 RPM just fine, although it's not at peak efficiency. Eli

    Experience with GV install anyone?

You can't go much bigger on a dually, the tires get to close. As mentioned, a 3.55 gear swap would bring RPM way down, and for a lot less than a GV unit. Or, just drive slower, I drove my new '91 CC SRW from Sherman to Houston yesterday (7.3/ZF-5/4.10LS) with the cruise set around 67 MPH the...

    A/C Question.

Yes, they were offered without AC, but having lived in Santa Fe (SFHS '90-'91) I sure wouldn't want to go far without it! There used to be a company out of Ft Worth that offered AC retrofit kits using proprietary parts, but they went under several years ago. I'd find a parts truck and strip it...

    Bronco 7.3 idi Turbo Build

I believe you need a Diesel front end (core support, etc.) to do it 'right' - but there's probably flexibility. Bronco frame and TTB will probably hold up fine if you don't abuse it, I'd get HD springs front and rear. Eli

On the fence about tires (yep, another tire thread)

I believe the LT265/75R16 is the common replacement for older LT235/85R16 'singley' applications - they're the same height and for the 6.5" and 7" rims - but make sure you get LT and not P-metric! A lot of tire store guys aren't too bright and will install P-metric (passenger car) tires on...

    Another Interesting IDIT Failure

I hadn't even thought of that! When I was working in a BioDiesel plant (La Grange, TX) several years ago, we over-heated an off-spec batch trying to dry it. We sold it as 'Bio-Solvent' to another BD producer, he tried to blend it off with on-spec BD to make cheaper BD. End result was clogging...

    Another Interesting IDIT Failure

I'm not sure what that is, likely went a LONG time between oil changes! I've heard the same thing, that Lucas is just pure heavy lube oil without any additives. I've never run it, never encouraged others to either. Eli
